The Central African franc is the monetary unit for Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo and Central African Republic.
Chad is a country with population of 10 800 000 people and territory of 1 280 000 square kilometers. French and Arabic are the official languages.
The international currency code of the Central African franc (CFA) is XAF.
At the moment, the franc is pegged to the Euro at an exchanging rate of: 100 CFA francs = 0,152449 Euro
It is used in territories covering 3 000 000 square kilometers. It is issued by the Bank of Central African Countries.
The franc is subdivided into 100 centimes, but they have never been in circulation.
Banknotes in circulation have nominal values of 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000 francs.
Coins in denominations are of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 500 franks.
Since 1993 the banknotes have been marked with the letter, showing the country of their emission.
